One in six Yolo County residents cannot read and write sufficiently to carry out day-to-day activities at work and home. Adult literacy tutors provide one-on-one tutoring to Yolo County residents who want to improve their reading and writing skills. Common reading and writing goals include reading a book, obtaining a GED, creating a resume or acquiring new computer skills. Tutors are needed throughout Yolo County.
Training, support and materials are provided by Yolo Reads staff.
Yolo Reads is a free program of the Yolo County Library.
The Yolo County Library requires our volunteers to reside in Northern California.
